Yes, as per NMC regulations, NEET required for MBBS abroad is mandatory for Indian students to be eligible for the FMGE/NExT screening test required to practice medicine in India. Without NEET, your foreign MBBS degree will not be recognized for practice in India.

FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination), now transitioning to the FMGE NExT exam, (National Exit Test), is a mandatory screening exam conducted by the NMC. Yes, after clearing FMGE/NExT, students can do an under-NMC-approved hospital internship in India. The internship must be completed at an NMC-approved institution before you can apply for a permanent medical registration in India.

Core documents include a valid passport, NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets with PCB (physics, chemistry, and biology), birth certificate, passport-sized photographs, and a medical fitness certificate.
